Indication

Doxivet Oral is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in livestock and poultry caused by organisms susceptible to doxycycline — for example: respiratory infections, pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, Pasteurella, Mycoplasma, ORT (Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale) in poultry and pigs.

Dosage & Administration

Route: Oral administration via drinking water.
Example dosage guidance:

• Pigs: 12.5 mg doxycycline hyclate per kg body weight per day for 4 consecutive days.Chickens (broiler/pullet/breeder):

  • For infections due to Pasteurellosis (Pasteurella multocida): ~10 mg/kg body weight per day for 3-4 days.

  • For infections due to ORT: ~20 mg/kg body weight per day for 3-4 days.

Administration Note:

• Mix the required amount of product into the clean drinking water so that the animals consume the full dose over 24 hours.

• If no improvement is seen after the stated period (for example 4 days in pigs), the diagnosis should be reviewed and alternative treatment considered.
